Bus Ministry at Temple Baptist in Redford Michigan..
J. Hill
January 4
Hello! I attended Temple Baptist in the 1970's and my Father, Mike Hill was in charge of the bus ministry at the time and it grew rapidly during that time since my father had a passion for winning souls to Christ. We were sad to hear what happened to the church.

Welcome to the Bus Ministry Home Page!..

Bus meeting every Saturday!..
Webmaster
August 26
All the people involved should have a Bus Meeting every Saturday!

If your church isn't even doing this small part then everybodies heart is not in it! This a serious business and I have seen the Bus Ministry go from 2 buses running picking up 50+ kids to no buses running and adults are picking up about 4 kids with their cars. How does this happen? The Preacher's Heart was not in it. It starts from the top down in all cases!

More about the bus meeting!
Breakfast should be served and then at least an hour of discussions about:
A: Each Kid
B: Make Goals & are we meeting our Goals
C: Any Problems
D: Visitation

Then Actual Visitation!

I know this is not going to come off right but her..

My son who is now 12 I am concerned about. He has always attended church since he was about 6 but it seems that a lot of the local churches like kids who are less then 10 or old enough to give 10%. They have no ideal what kida that age up are going thu and mostly they perfer for them not to be there. Honestly. Unless it a BIG church they don't want to take the time to deal with them. Sorry but taking a 12 year old boy with a bunch of young kinds like 5,6,7 and singing in front of the church when you are the only one over 7 doesn't set well with a 12 year old. Why can they not see that kids grow up and deal with them. I have to as a parent but they don't want to. Most Sad!

Pray for churches in this country, there a LOT of teenagers who are growing up and learning to dislike and hate church!

We need to get after it...
Brian
September 28
This morning is Saturday Morning. We have our usual bus visitation visiting the kids that we already have on our bus. Bro. David Lane gave the devotion and showed a video that brother Jack Hyles had at one of his pastors schools on the subject of the bus ministry and the effects of the bus ministry. That fired the workers up and we got out and got over 20 new riders in a small town. I think we are failing in this line of work and need to get after it more and do the work for God and not for the Glory of ourselfs.

END QUOTE:

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doing it for the Glory of yourselves
works for a while,
but then it will start failing!

Doing it
for the LOVE of the kids
is doing it to Glorify God
and will succeed!

No gifts of the Spirit are greater then LOVE,
LOVE says what to your heart that you should do?

Teach them that it is the LOVE
that should be applied,
not some movie!

Jesus Christ wrote some parable's about it,
look them up and see what applies!

Church bus Dicipline..
Terri Santiago
November 4
We run a bus on Wednesday nights to our childrens and youth activities. I have issues with dicipline on the bus. I have a few young children, 3-10 but for the most part my bus is full of youth. I realize there must be some structure on the bus but how far do you go with that? I also have a sunday bus with fewer riders partly because I take with me two men that act as 'bouncers' if you will. I think at times they drive children away because of their structure. Is there a middle ground? I don't like yelling at these kids... they don't have to come... they choose to!!

Response to workers and worker commitment..
Terri Santiago
November 4
We try to have 4 workers on each bus
1) Driver
2) Secetary (does attendance and new rider info, makes phone calls as we travel the route to make sure kids are ready and going)
3) Bouncer (affectionately called), stays on the bus the entire route, in charge of disipline (lovingly)....you have to watch your choice of these guys ,, tough but loving
4) Runner - gets on and off the bus to get kids..knows kids well and helps with problem's as bus fills up.

Thats how we do it, It usually works well when everyone shows up! If not I find one of the kids to take roll. Or the bouncer is also the runner if need be..

Music..
webmaster
November 4
I fixed a cheap jam box to run off of the 12 volt cig ligther on the bus. This worked wonders!! We recorded a few tapes of Southern Gospel Music and played them all the time at about 75% volume. It gets them in a better mood before church and on the way home.

When church is over go straight to the bus with the kids. The kids running around playing after service gets their blood pumping and they are more likely to be rowdy on the bus. Don't allow no one else to come on the bus once this is done but the people involved on the bus itself and the kids. Allowing the pastor to say something to them changes the authority to him which of course he then gets off the bus and the authority goes with him which leaves you with a problem. LOL

November 5
This was just me and my wife on the Bus. We really had no problems with the kids. We took them out visiting on Sat. and they Loved it!

Some examples:

1. A kid hit another kid while at the church on the bus. The mother of the kid had to pick him and take him home. The kid not show back up but the other kids learned that with us this was a NO NO and would not be tolerated by us at ALL!

2. We would buy 2 for a dollar sausage biscuits from MacDonalds for Sunday morning. It made a mess on the bus but that is what the garden hose is for. Plus the people at church would eat the left over ones.

3. Talk to the kids about once every 2 months at random and ask them are there any problems. You might find out that you have a teenager there who is acts sweet and wants to help all the time but when she gets time she tells the kid you are stupid and we don't want you back here. The only way you will learn this is to call the little kids over the phone and ask them how was last night!

Bus Rider Age Requirements..
Lani Myers
November 25
We implemented a Bus Rider Age Requirement in our Bus Ministry. Our age limit is 5 years and up. We also have each parent or guardian sign a Liability Release Form giving the child permission to ride. We realize that children that are age 5 usually do not require a car seat, most of the children age 5 and up usually ride a school bus to school and are able to ride on their own without an adult. The only exception to a younger child riding the bus would be if their parent or guardian were riding with them to Church.

NHTSA ANNOUNCES PENALTIES FOR
SELLING VANS AS SCHOOL BUSES

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today announced that it has completed its first group of investigations into vehicle dealers who illegally sold or leased vans that were used as school buses.

"Our motivation in pursuing these investigations is to assure that school children ride on the safest form of transportation on American roads -- the school bus," said NHTSA Administrator Ricardo Martinez, M.D.

Concerned about the use of large vans for carrying students, NHTSA two years ago sought the assistance of school transportation officials in providing investigative leads on illegal sales or leases. NHTSA has completed investigations and assessed civil penalties against 10 dealers.

Federal law provides that school buses are the only vehicles with a capacity of more than 10 passengers that can be manufactured, sold or leased for transporting students to and from school and related events. The law applies to the sale or lease of new vehicles.

According to NHTSA, illegal sales of vans for pupil transportation raise a risk to school children because vans are not required to have the same protective seats, emergency exits, special mirrors, vehicle structure, and fuel systems as school buses. Vans also do not have traffic control devices such as flashing lights and stop arms. School bus drivers also must hold a commercial driver’s license.

NHTSA officials said they, along with school transportation officials, remain committed to investigating illegal sales or leases of vans that are used in pupil transportation. Anyone wishing to report a suspected illegal sale or lease of a van used for school transportation can do so by calling the Auto Safety Hotline at 1-800-424-9393.

Following is a list of completed investigations:

Vehicle dealers sanctioned

Criswell Chevrolet, Gaithersburg, Md. 3 $1,000

"Protecting Your Church (and its Members)
from Lawsuits"

Thursday, October 10, 2002
Time: 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Presenter: Sam Gore
Location: SCC Campus - Room A121
Cost: Free of Charge

Changes in "charitable immunity" policy, plus the increasing number of church activities put many religious organizations at a high risk of litigation. Churches that provide programs for children/youth, provide food service, or operate buses/vans are at a VERY HIGH RISK! In this seminar, participants will learn the benefits of developing (or revising) by-laws, articles of incorporation, and policy manuals, and how these work to limit liability and protect the church (and its members) from devastating lawsuits.

RE: BUS WORKERS

We presently have 2 bus routes. Our average attendance on Sunday's range from 8-10. Our highest attendance is on Wednesday's, which range from 25-30. We run our bus for each service (Sunday a.m., Sunday p.m., and Wednesday). We have an alternating bus driver and assistant to ride each route. Presently we have 4 drivers and 6-8 assistants. Our driver's are responsible for doing the driving and keeping a check on the gas gauge as well as letting the mechanic know of any problems with the bus. Our assistants are responsible for loading and unloading, keeping records of attendance as the passengers load and unload, they are responsible for behavior control during the ride to and from church, they are also responsible for giving out the "Good Seat" rewards for those behaving on during the route trip. We have an Usher, who is also a mechanic that services and maintains our bus.

RE: WORKER COMMITTMENT

1. The Bus Captains send "Thank You" notes to each of the drivers and assistants for their faithfulness in this area of ministry.

2. The Bus Captains have appreciation meetings / luncheons or fellowship dinners to recognize their faithfulness.

3. Buddy Bell Ministries has a great teaching on the importance of the Ministry of Helps Teams which has been a tremendous help in the committment of our workers in every area of the Ministry of Help.

bouncers..

December 19
While I agree with the webmaster on not having someone who acts just as a bouncer, I don't think we should hesitate to suspend someone from riding when the situation calls for it. On our buses here, the captain has the responsibility of developing a friendship with the kids but also being the one to suspend them if needed.

Get rid of bouncers are not an option in my book! PRAY for them!
Spend time with them and love them ... they need it the most. They are the ones who are starving for attention. One thing that I have found is...
If you give them small jobs to do and use them as helpers --- They Love It!
Develop a relationship with them. The soon calm down and respect you
and become great Christians. When we just get rid of the .... The enemy has won.

Hi,

I'm helping to organize a bus ministry at our church (we don't have one today).

One of the concerns expressed to me is how do we make sure the kids make it from the bus to the proper class and back to the bus.

I read the training materials in the pdf (great stuff by the way), but really did not see this addressed.

What are you doing at your church?

Terry,

I know what you are going through, our church also runs a route on Sunday with about 20 kids regularly, and Wednesday route with 30 regular riders-- I was also having a large probelm with discapline on Wednesday's (they seem to to be OK on Sunday though). We may be a little unique in the fact that 90 of our riders on Wednesday are female (of all ages)-- I was able to find a lady in our church that was willing to ride this last Wednesday, so I had 2 helpers-- it was amazing the difference with the second helper, I am not sure if it was becouse there was more help, or the lady was able to communicate with the kids better-- but she has told me that she would like to ride every week, and I am sure glad.

Hi, I need to get all the information I can in trying to sell the idea of a Church bus to our congregation. They all feel we don't need one..I feel we do.. I am the Theodosia United Methodist Youth Fellowship Leader. Not only could our group use a bus or van but our Women's society, Men's Cblb, Singles Club, choir and administration council so that they could go to district. We could use it to pick up the elderly and children to bring them to church or sunday school. What I need is all the tools I can get to get them to realize the importaance of the bus. I know that we do not need a CDL to drive a 15 passenger bus or van...Please help me..
Thank you and God Bless...

Hazardous School Bus Driver..
Linn Walker
May 19
We have a driver on our childrens bus that is out of control. She has been seen speeding by numerous parents and has backed into a fire marker by someones driveway. She treats our children horribly with sarcastic goading comments to entice them into argumentative situations so she can disipline them. However, I think the biggest issue is the speeding and the constant selective monitoring of the students to the point she is hardly watching were she is going, then blames the students because they are too loud. She is a wacko from the word go. We have had meetings and telephone conversations with the transportation dept. and they keep ignoring the speedin, saying they have set up random monitoring and have no evidence of it, in viewing the videos they find nothing wrong with her constant badgering of the children, pulling over all the time to make the be quiet and change seats when they are not even being loud. We have asked for this driver to be removed and replaced due to her lack of maturity necessary in dealing with our children in what could be a very dangerous situation with her lack of consentration in driving due to the constant nit picking and childish goading while driving. We were told "take your kids off the bus" if you don't like it. I think that comment speaks for itself coming from the transportation superintendant. We have repeatedly asked for help in trying to understand why they would allow this driver to maintain her position under the circumstances, we had a meeting with 15 sets of parents in attendance along with children, and that was all but one parent that I was able to get a hold of, the others we did not know who they were. At that meeting the driver insinuated all the children and the parents were lying and she was not at fault for anything. I don't understand how this could be. Our tax dollars pay the majority of her salary yet we have no say in who drives our children to school so we can be assured they are being transported in a mentally healthy and safe enviroment. I can't help but think this is a union issue with the way that they are defending her. I have repeatedly asked for all of the policies they keep quoting me yet none seem to be in existance. Would someone please help me. I don't feel I should have to remove my child from this bus when my tax dollars pay for the service and drive them to school everyday. Hoever, if this woman continues to drive I will have no other choice for my childrens safety. Help guide me in some direction of help. Thank You.

I have been in the bus ministry for almost ten years, many as a captain. What I have found to be most effective in preventing problems is to keep an exciting, action-packed program. On my bus every week, we will have a bible games (games I have gotten from a book "Mouse On A Mission" by Ed Dunlop), we will have contests (pickle-eating, soda drinking, etc.), fun bus songs and a host of other fun activities. This will take care of most of your problems. Obviousely, it will not help with a child who is simply obstinate. Sometimes it is better to lose one rebellious kid than to sacrifice the rest of the kids.

Black people have always welcomed Red, Yellow, Black, and White to their 10,000 + (plus) years church services. Ur Ziggurat Temple in a country now called Iraq Welcomed Abraham to the Temple. The Hittite Empire Temples in a country now called Turkey Welcomed Abraham to the Hittite Empire. The The Tel El Armana Temples in Egypt welcomed Abraham into Egypt. We as a people have always loved the CREATOR. 400 hundred years ago when our Country Egypt now called Africa was invaded, conquered, and occupied, and our people was kidnapped and brought to America against their will; after 1865 we started to build churchs and welcomed the red, yellow, black and white.

What we need to do is to accept our history as stated in our 1611 King James version of our Bible. Genesis 10:6-20, so we can clean up, and rebuild our communites. Keep the 10,000 Billion Dollars flowing through our commities in the community. Our talented, gifted, genius, beautiful children need to know all about black history starting with Noah. Rider Ages..

On our buses, we allow those that are 5 and up to ride the bus. It used to be 4 and up, because you have some 4 year olds that listen and pay
attention, but, the majority of 4 years olds do not. They would rather play than listen to the preaching. I've had parents ask if their two year olds can come. You have to remember, you are not a baby sitting service. The bus ministry is a soul winning ministry, we want to see people saved.

I think the number of workers, depends on how big your route is. On one of my routes, I had 14 workers. We were bringing in between 50 and 60 kids on a Sunday morning. We had so many kids, because each worker and their partner had a specific section of the city, that they worked in, and they would work with and be responsible for the kids that they visited. I have been a bus captain on our routes for 6 years now. My husband and I are now captains on the same bus. So for Sunday am pick ups, we have a secretary that records all the names, and keeps all info regarding the rider and keeps the permission slips filed that the parents sign for the child to ride the bus. We make the boys sit on one side of the bus, and the girls sit on the other. (It's safer that way) So we have someone that greets the riders and makes sure they have place to sit. There are several that watch to make sure that trouble is not brewing somewhere. There are some workers that help to keep the bus clean to church and back. There are some workers that go from seat to seat chatting with the rider, getting to know them. My husband and I would love to sit and chat with each and every rider, but it is hard for us to do the things we have to get done, plus the other. Everyone can have a responsibility. The most important thing is to work together as a team. It makes things smoother.

Brian,

I know about the video you are talking about. I am a graduate of Hyles Anderson College. I am also a bus captain at my home church, and have been for 6 years now. I also live in a small town. The bus ministry is hard work, but I love it. It is what God has called me to do. Yes, I get tired and sometimes discouraged, but I do the work that I am supposed to do, and I let God do the rest. When you try to do the work for yourself, you never prosper. But we need to work harder in our bus ministries. America is dying, not because of the wicked people in this world, but because Christians are not working like they should. And we should remember that every Sunday, whether we have 2 riders or 50, we should always give praise to God.

Discipline and problems..

Terri,

I am a graduate of Hyles Anderson College. I have been working the bus routes for 10 years now. I started a bus route at my home church 6 years ago. I am a stickler for discipline. I do not allow any kind of disrespect on the bus. I do not allow any fighting, calling names, etc. My bus kids know what happens when I catch them doing any of the above. The first offense, I tell the parents what happened, and tell them that, that kind of behavior is not allowed on the bus at all, and I tell them if it happens again, they will be suspended from the bus for 1 week. If it happens again, 2 week suspension, etc. I want to give them a chance. If the problem persists, let them go. My kids walk the line, all I have to do is look at them and they know I mean business. Never let a child control your route. You have to be firm in your discipline. You have to keep the parents posted. And you must record, any time that you have to correct a child. Stand your ground. I have had to raise my voice several times, but the kids still come and I have their utmost respect. It's called "tough love". I always tell them, if they don't like the rules, they don't have to come.

Open our doors to all races..

Manfread,

I agree, I am a preachers kid. Our church is not a white church, or a black church, it is an Independent Fundamental Bible believing Baptist church. We open our doors to all races. The Bible says that we are all under one blood. Jesus died for all, not for certain ones. The Bible also says to go into the highways and the biways and preach the Gospel. I believe that Jesus wants us to reach all people. If we shut our doors to someone because of their race, we are disobeying God's command for us to reach all.

FIRST AND FOREMOST,
THE CHILDREN MUST SEE JESUS IN YOU. YOU MUST LOVE THEM TO NO END AND LET THE LOVE OF JESUS WORK IN THOSE THAT MISBEHAVE.
SING SONGS THAT ENCOURAGE DISCIPLINE FOR EXAMPLE "OBEDIENCE" ASK QUESTION, DO THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT OBEDIENCE MEAN. THERE ARE CERTAIN RULES THAT YOU MUST KEEP, THE FIRST ONE IS: THE BUS CAPTAIN IS IN CHARGE NOT THE KIDS, HAVE LOTS OF FUN ON THE BUS, KEEP THEM BUSY. BE CREATIVE AND REMEMBER LOVE THEM TO NO END.

Wow, this is the first time I have looked for a site about bus ministry. We do this at our church First Pentecostal Church. We are brainstorming right now for new and innovative ideas on how to reach our city in this respect. One idea we have come up with is a mobile outreach unit. This would be a bus with a few seats removed and painted any way you would want on the outside. We have several routes throughout the city of Wichita and they are all demographically different. We want to take this unit each Saturday to a different route and do things that would reach that particular part of town. Such as bring our church youth and do a live music video( such as a Carmen song), another time we could use a type of Christian rap( we have blacks, browns, whites, yellows in our church). The pastor says "There is room in the house of God for everybody". We do have Hispanics, Phillipinos, African American, some Haitian, we are working on Vietnemese and Asian groups as well. Back to bus ministry. Also on the mobile unit one Saturday we want to do Veggie Tales.

We Need A Van?..

October 5
Dear Sir,
I'm sorry to say that we don't have a bus. In fact, we are looking for a church van for my church, Mendon Baptist Church. It's a small country church trying to reach the lost souls in the surrounding area. Our van now is very worn and in need of repair. Unfortunately, our church doesn't make enough to buy another van. If you know of anyone donating a 15 passenger van could you send them our way please. You can try to contact me through E-mail, but we don't always get to it right away.

I am a Children's Pastor and have found that utilizing a "token" system will give you a way to control children of most ages. The tokens or "Faith Dollars" are used by the children to buy small toys, candy, snacks at the end of service. Children get "Faith Dollars" for attending, bringing visitors, good behavior, etc... they loose "Faith Dollars" each time they misbehave. Rules should be explained and the children will have a blast getting rewarded for positive behavior. Go to my site at http://www.visioncasterministries.org/cmrc/index.htm and get all the info on this discipline system.

Spiritual Blindness of todays Churches...

November 13
I have a question, why is that the school system can watch and be responsible for hundreds to over a thousand kids but a church with only 15-30 kids are unable to watch them or to be responsible for them? Allowing 15-30 kids to be alone un-supervised is completely idiotic. Where does this kind of blindness come from???

When God moves upon you to begin a bus ministry, you will know it. You will not need forms to screen bus workers the Holy Spirit will be your screening agent.
You will not need the best insurance, you need pray and the guardian angels and warring angels of the Lord.
My dear sister, if you lift Jesus up, HE will draw all men unto Him. The world behind us the cross before us.
You (or the one directing you) are finding reasons, worldly reasons, to hinder the bus ministry and the little children coming unto Him.

Jesus wants you to bring them to Him so that He can bless them.
13) ¶ Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put [his] hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14) But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 15) And he laid [his] hands on them, . . . - Matthew 19:13-15

May God bless you in all that you do for Him, is my prayer for you and may the hindering spirits leave now in Jesus Name.

Soul Winning Bus Family..

My dear brother,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus.
Once upon a time in the USA their was a general belief in God and His people were able to find a church of like faith. But in the last fifty yeras since God delivered us out of the hands of satanic regimes in world war 2, we have become rich and we have much goods and we falesly think, we have no need of God. The family you speak of that left a sould winning church, unless it was at the clear direction of God, are wrong. If they went for a job or another worldly reason, they have flat out made a mistake and need to repent. They have put the things of the world before God. They need to come home to where God was using them. God WILL supply their needs. THe Bible does not say seek ye first the things of the world, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteouness and all these things (you have need of) will be added unto you. Furthermore, there is a Spirit of death over Kansas and Nebraska which is so real that you will see houses and businesses that are in sound shape that are abandoned and left to die. Their is a lot of cancer around. It is not a place to go absent a word form God. BUT that all siad, you many ask why are you, Brother Hughes there?

WE believe that God wants to start an END TIME REVIVAL in the CONTINENTAL CENTER OF THE USA. We have therefore moved to the Continent's center Lebanon, Kansas. If these people are more than a bus ministry family, if they are warriors for the Lord, if they want to be laughed at and scorned and made fun of by the world as they pick up the little ones for Jesus, then perhaps they are in the right place.

But to more directly answer you, I know of no place in Linclon Nebraska or west of there where there is an "on fire" "soul winning" church in southern Nebraska or northern Kansas. I am not aware of the Spiritual climate of Iowa and they are close to Iowa, but I do not suppose the devil honors state boundaries.

Children needed..
Brother Hughes
January 24
My dear brother,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus, Who said GO ye therefore . . .

Needed:
1) God's vision.
2) A zeal to be witnesses unto Him
3) A pastor that is involved or supports the work
4) Prayer
5) Available people (2 or more)
6) Prayer
6) Meeting early Saturday with a short devotional
7) Prayer for Holy Spirit guidance and to go before you. Rebuke all fear. Ask the Lord to get you out of the way as you become His feet, His hands, His voice.
8) GO

When working on a bus ministry, in a larger metropolitan area (city of 5,000 +) we would find a place that was at least six to ten blocks from the church. That area that is that close should be worked by the door to door ministry of the church as they go out and invite people to come to the God's house as they compel them to come in.

So find a place away from the church that is a place where families live (housing projects, mobile home parks, apartment buildings) then just go from door to door.

IT IS SATURDAY, THE DAY BEFORE SERVICES, You knock on the door.

When they ask who is there?

You reply "FROM THE CHURCH."

Then when they come to the door you say,

MY NAME IS BROTHER . . . and this is my witnessing partner, BROTHER . . . (even if he is a teenager or slightly younger)

"We are going through the neighborhood inviting people to come to the Blood Bought Free Will Batecostal church. We would love to have you and your wife/husband and all the children come to church."

"We have a church bus that comes by this area and we would love to take you and your spouse or you and the children or the children to church with us."

At first you will be amazed how many will say okay. Someone will come. Now if you have a 30 passenger bus, you can invite 35 because not all will be ready even the next day.

Show up Sunday with the bus at the time you said you would be there. Gather in the harvest.

Have evangelistic Sunday School classes

Have altar call at church.

AFTER THEY ARE SAVED, COMES THE HARDER PART. Make disciples.

You will have to go back to the same area for weeks before you will be released
to move to a new location.

Have the same Sunday School for all you pick up be able to make disciples. You have to process the crop that is harvested. For directions read Matthew
28:19-20. TEACH THEM what JESUS commanded. Not the programs of the church. Not your good ideas. The WORD of God.

Bus Ministry A-B-C modified..
Brother Hughes
January 24
My dear brother,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus, Who said GO ye therefore . . .

Another Brother had asked about bus ministry a couple of weeks back but I just answered it today. I returned to the site as I needed to have my heart pierced again by the words to that busman song and I just happened to notice that you had asked about the bus ministry, do s and don'ts. (smile)

First do, do believe this is of God and not a worldly venture. For instance you may go out and try and have new people to come. You may spend several hours with little success, you think. Later sometimes much later you will find out that GOD was using you all along. So DO trust GOD.

Second do not lean unto your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE (GOD) will direct your paths. BUT as I told the other Brother here are some essentials that you will need.

Needed:
1) God's vision.
2) A zeal to be witnesses unto Him
3) A pastor that is involved or supports the work
4) Prayer
5) Available people (2 or more)
6) Prayer
6) Meeting early Saturday with a short devotional

8) GO

When working on a bus ministry, in a larger metropolitan area (city of 5,000 +) my first experience was in Detroit (2 million), my last was in Oscoda (4,000). We would find a place that was at least six to ten blocks from the church. That six to ten block area closest to the church should be worked by the door to door ministry of the church as they go out and invite people to come to the God's house as they compel them to come in. Then when they come to the door you say,

MY NAME IS BROTHER . . . and this is my witnessing partner, BROTHER . . . (even if he is a teenager or slightly younger) Females only if wife or daughter.

"We are going through the neighborhood inviting people to come to the Blood Bought Free Will Batecostal, Jesus Loves You, devil chasing church (smile -you may want to use the name of your church.

"We would love to have you and your wife/husband and all the children come to church."

"We have a church bus that comes by this area and we would love to take you and your spouse or you and the children or the children to church with us."

At first you will be amazed how many will say okay. Someone will come. Now if you have a 30 passenger bus, you can invite 35 because not all will be ready even the next day.

AFTER THEY ARE SAVED, COMES THE HARDER PART. Make disciples.

You will have to go back to the same area for weeks before you will be released to move to a new location, while someone else continues to work your older area. It will include people from that area who have been faithful.

Have the same Sunday School for all be able to make disciples. Each Sunday School teacher must become a "pastor" to his class. But they have to make these young people believers and then disciples.
In short, you have to process the crop that is harvested. For directions read Matthew 28:19-20. TEACH THEM what JESUS commanded. Not the programs of the church. Not your good ideas. The WORD of God.

May God bless you in all that you do for Him,

Hello my name is Chad I am a kids Pastor in Arkansas. I have just started my new bus ministrie here. Its going great weve already seen 50 new converts in just a few months.

The way I do it is I target one spicific area a month. I go to project ares and do street ministrie, puppets, etc etc. then I follow up with my bus ministrie. This is very effective. It is alot of work, but it is worth the lives that are being changed with the gospel. You have to have alot of dedicated workers. Its so effective that I am going to have to start having Saturday services just for kids ministrie. So we can use the santuary.

If I can help you with anything at all just let me no. God Bless!

I used it for my band, which has now disbanded, and I need to sell it NOW! I don't know if you are still looking for a van, but I think this van may be what you're looking for. It also has a full tow package and can pull a trailer with ease. If you are even remotely interested, please let me know asap. I am now asking 16,700 for it, but you can make me an offer. Simple Rules for this Site!

Posted by Webmaster on Saturday, August 31 2002

Web-Ministry is intended for the Glory of God.

Please try to be respectful of God and to be reverent toward His Word, which is the Holy Bible.

Some may not be Christian nor agree with Christian theology in general,
but please be respectful of those that do and to Christendom in general.

People from all walks of life and backgrounds of faith are welcome here,
including the backslidden and nonbelievers, as well.

We may not all agree... but we can agree to disagree, at least.

However, any potential disagreements still need to remain civil in nature, and should stay as such.

Please, just debate the points of your position, if necessary, and refrain from ad hominem attacks.
Slandering and name calling serve no productive purpose.

Posting rules are based upon decent conduct and generally acceptable chat behavior and,
also, on Christian beliefs and morals found in the Holy Bible.

Please refrain from using offensive language or obscenely suggestive innuendo.

Usernames that are not becoming of basic common decency and morality are not to be used and may possibly result in membership cancellation.

Refusing to follow forum rules may result in membership cancellation and possibly some or all applicable posts being deleted and if necessary... entire threads.

If you feel these things to be unacceptable, please find another forum to post on.Thank you.
