My dear brother, Greetings in the Name of Jesus, Who said GO ye therefore . . . Another Brother had asked about bus ministry a couple of weeks back but I just answered it today. I returned to the site as I needed to have my heart pierced again by the words to that busman song and I just happened to notice that you had asked about the bus ministry, do s and don\'ts. (smile) First do, do believe this is of God and not a worldly venture. For instance you may go out and try and have new people to come. You may spend several hours with little success, you think. Later sometimes much later you will find out that GOD was using you all along. So DO trust GOD. Second do not lean unto your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE (GOD) will direct your paths. BUT as I told the other Brother here are some essentials that you will need. Needed: 1) God\'s vision. 2) A zeal to be witnesses unto Him 3) A pastor that is involved or supports the work 4) Prayer 5) Available people (2 or more) 6) Prayer 6) Meeting early Saturday with a short devotional 7) Prayer for Holy Spirit guidance and to go before you. Rebuke all fear. Ask the Lord to get you out of the way as you become His feet, His hands, His voice. 8) GO When working on a bus ministry, in a larger metropolitan area (city of 5,000 +) my first experience was in Detroit (2 million), my last was in Oscoda (4,000). We would find a place that was at least six to ten blocks from the church. That six to ten block area closest to the church should be worked by the door to door ministry of the church as they go out and invite people to come to the God\'s house as they compel them to come in. (smile) So find a place away from the church that is a place where families live (housing projects, mobile home parks, apartment buildings) then just go from door to door. IT IS SATURDAY, THE DAY BEFORE SERVICES, You knock on the door. When they ask who is there? You reply \"FROM THE CHURCH.\" Then when they come to the door you say, MY NAME IS BROTHER . . . and this is my witnessing partner, BROTHER . . . (even if he is a teenager or slightly younger) Females only if wife or daughter. \"We are going through the neighborhood inviting people to come to the Blood Bought Free Will Batecostal, Jesus Loves You, devil chasing church (smile -you may want to use the name of your church. \"We would love to have you and your wife/husband and all the children come to church.\" \"We have a church bus that comes by this area and we would love to take you and your spouse or you and the children or the children to church with us.\" At first you will be amazed how many will say okay. Someone will come. Now if you have a 30 passenger bus, you can invite 35 because not all will be ready even the next day. Show up Sunday with the bus at the time you said you would be there. Gather in the harvest. Have evangelistic Sunday School classes Have altar call at church. AFTER THEY ARE SAVED, COMES THE HARDER PART. Make disciples. You will have to go back to the same area for weeks before you will be released to move to a new location, while someone else continues to work your older area. It will include people from that area who have been faithful. Have the same Sunday School for all be able to make disciples. Each Sunday School teacher must become a \"pastor\" to his class. But they have to make these young people believers and then disciples. In short, you have to process the crop that is harvested. For directions read Matthew 28:19-20. TEACH THEM what JESUS commanded.
