Workers and worker commitment Bus Ministry

I think the number of workers, depends on how big your route is. On one of my routes, I had 14 workers. We were bringing in between 50 and 60 kids on a Sunday morning. We had so many kids, because each worker and their partner had a specific section of the city, that they worked in, and they would work with and be responsible for the kids that they visited. I have been a bus captain on our routes for 6 years now. My husband and I are now captains on the same bus. So for Sunday am pick ups, we have a secretary that records all the names, and keeps all info regarding the rider and keeps the permission slips filed that the parents sign for the child to ride the bus. We make the boys sit on one side of the bus, and the girls sit on the other. (It\'s safer that way) So we have someone that greets the riders and makes sure they have place to sit. There are several that watch to make sure that trouble is not brewing somewhere. There are some workers that help to keep the bus clean to church and back. There are some workers that go from seat to seat chatting with the rider, getting to know them. My husband and I would love to sit and chat with each and every rider, but it is hard for us to do the things we have to get done, plus the other. Everyone can have a responsibility. The most important thing is to work together as a team. It makes things smoother.
