|
| All the people involved should have a Bus Meeting every Saturday!
If your church isn't even doing this small part then everybodies heart is not in it! This a serious business and I have seen the Bus Ministry go from 2 buses running picking up 50+ kids to no buses running and adults are picking up about 4 kids with their cars. How does this happen? The Preacher's Heart was not in it. It starts from the top down in all cases!
More about the bus meeting!
Breakfast should be served and then at least an hour of discussions about:
A: Each Kid
B: Make Goals & are we meeting our Goals
C: Any Problems
D: Visitation
Then Actual Visitation!

| My son who is now 12 I am concerned about. He has always attended church since he was about 6 but it seems that a lot of the local churches like kids who are less then 10 or old enough to give 10%. They have no ideal what kida that age up are going thu and mostly they perfer for them not to be there. Honestly. Unless it a BIG church they don't want to take the time to deal with them. Sorry but taking a 12 year old boy with a bunch of young kinds like 5,6,7 and singing in front of the church when you are the only one over 7 doesn't set well with a 12 year old. Why can they not see that kids grow up and deal with them. I have to as a parent but they don't want to. Most Sad!
Pray for churches in this country, there a LOT of teenagers who are growing up and learning to dislike and hate church! |

|
| This morning is Saturday Morning. We have our usual bus visitation visiting the kids that we already have on our bus. Bro. David Lane gave the devotion and showed a video that brother Jack Hyles had at one of his pastors schools on the subject of the bus ministry and the effects of the bus ministry. That fired the workers up and we got out and got over 20 new riders in a small town. I think we are failing in this line of work and need to get after it more and do the work for God and not for the Glory of ourselfs.

| | We run a bus on Wednesday nights to our childrens and youth activities. I have issues with dicipline on the bus. I have a few young children, 3-10 but for the most part my bus is full of youth. I realize there must be some structure on the bus but how far do you go with that? I also have a sunday bus with fewer riders partly because I take with me two men that act as 'bouncers' if you will. I think at times they drive children away because of their structure. Is there a middle ground? I don't like yelling at these kids... they don't have to come... they choose to!! |

| Hi,
I'm helping to organize a bus ministry at our church (we don't have one today).
One of the concerns expressed to me is how do we make sure the kids make it from the bus to the proper class and back to the bus.
I read the training materials in the pdf (great stuff by the way), but really did not see this addressed.
What are you doing at your church? |

| Hi, I need to get all the information I can in trying to sell the idea of a Church bus to our congregation. They all feel we don't need one..I feel we do.. I am the Theodosia United Methodist Youth Fellowship Leader. Not only could our group use a bus or van but our Women's society, Men's Cblb, Singles Club, choir and administration council so that they could go to district. We could use it to pick up the elderly and children to bring them to church or sunday school. What I need is all the tools I can get to get them to realize the importaance of the bus. I know that we do not need a CDL to drive a 15 passenger bus or van...Please help me..
Thank you and God Bless... |

Allowing 15-30 kids to be alone un-supervised is completely idiotic. Where does this kind of blindness come from??? |

| | I know of a small chuch here in Warsaw that is trying to get on its feet but is in desperate need of a bus. The church consists of five adults that attend regularly and 28 children that attend regularly also. These children come from families with limited or no means at all. Most of these children come from broken homes and are neglected in every way imaginable. The children meet every sunday to attend sunday school and every wednesday night to attend a youth group. Not all of the children that attend live in Warsaw, some children come from Wallace and Rosehill.... transportation is currently being provided by some of the church members and the minister. If you could please give me some information on how this church can obtain a bus threw a possible donation please e mail me at WEB LINK or call me at 910-285-5165. These children need the word and in order to get the word to them they must have transportation. |

In order to do this fairly, I believe that each worker needs to understand what is expected of him or her. Is there anyone who may have some samples of these types of documents that we can use or build upon? |

|
| I have been awed by the fact my church's Bus Ministry (actually we use 15 passenger vans) is operated mostly by women. Our leader is a woman. I am one of 4 women drivers. I think we have 3 regular men drivers. Our helpers, or shotgun riders as I call them, are a pretty even mix.
If my memory serves me correctly, the last couple of years during VBS, it was all women, maybe a with a male helper or two, that brought the kids in.
I am just wondering about other churches and who they have driving or helping in thier bus ministry as far as gender.
I know there are some 'ol-schooler' out there who may not allow their women to drive. I am just curious. I know God don't care who is driving as long as young'ins are being brought in. |

| I wa saved in 1974 in Junior Church at Temple Baptist Church in Redford while riding the Buses from my house in Detroit 6 years later, I had the chance to become a bus captain along with a few friends some people thought we were too young (just 16)but we had a friend that stood behind us his name was Al Moore and he taught us everything that we know.
Sadly, in 1988, Temple shut all their buses down after the pastor resigned my bus at the time had 75-100 kids every Sunday as I listen to the song that is on this website, it reminds me of what it was, what it is, and if we dont make it change, what it will be. When we lost the routes all my friends also left and went their seperate ways.
I was told that I was bringing too many black kids and they had to stop them or the church would be wrecked. Well, it did fall anyway. I found a small Church in my bus area and continued to run it but they didnt have the people or the money to keep it going so I had to stop it in 1992. '
I found another Church (a non-denominational Church) and got it started again and between the two Churches we saw a lot of good things happen but the same thing happened there. This was a mostly black church and they just told me, "if they cant behave, they have to stay home" so in March 2003 I left for good.
I currently have a bus route at Charity Baptist Church in Brownstown, Mi (Pastor Wayne Halleck) just over a year old and we bring about 30 a week. Not too many Churches doing the Bus Ministry anymore that are close by. If there are any old Temple Members out there or if there are any similiar stories, I'd love to hear from you. |

| Fane | Posted: Wednesday, January 26 2005 1:15 am Post subject: Need A Church Bus User Location: Long Beach, CA. |
|
| Hi! My name is Fane Pati and I am a pastors wife for the New Hope Christian Fellowship in Long Beach, CA. Our church consist mostly of young adults, single mothers, and a variety of ethnicity. We had purchased a 12 passenger van in the year of 2003. Since then, we have been growing and it came to the point where we had to make multiple trips to the homes of those wanting to come to fellowship. We are in desperate need of a new/used church van/bus. The children are wanting to invite there friends but cannot due to there being no space in the van that we do have. It has come to the point where we try to fit over 12 people in a 12 passenger van. We have stopped trying to squeeze in more than we could and started to make more than one trip to a house. And mind you, we make more than 5 stops every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Please, we believe that if there is a will there is a way. Please contact me at my email address WEB LINK to let me know if we are a possible candidate.
Thank you and God Bless. |

| Dear beloved Brother,
Greetings and best wishes to you in His precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am greatly privileged to share these few lines with you. Here every work is going well by grace of god. We are always remembering you in our prayers and thoughts. Every times we wish to know about you and your works of lord. I hope you are praying for us and all our works. Praise the Lord.
At this time, I am insisted to share a special matter with you on 26th December there has been a huge flood occurred along the seacoast in our area. All are our co-pastors lost their houses (thatched) and churches. It was unexpected and many villages are drowned in the flood. Thousands of people, children and oldaged were dead. Thousands of houses are washed way and the whole of their belongings were driven in the flow of flood. For your kind information few of the villages which affected by flood are our gospel outreach villages. We regularly visit them and preach the gospel. They are all very poor people and depend upon daily labor through fishing and other agricultural work. Now they lost everything including their clothes, entinisils, houses (thatched) and all belongs to them. At present they are standing with empty hands looking for any kind of help to look after themselves and their family members. We have visited some villages where our people are living and observed their condition. They are in deep sorrow by losing some of their family members and belongings. It is really a tragic situation to see their tragedy. They all have asked me to assist them in any way for their relief and rehabilitation at present.
For this, we need to supply them atleast some rice, vessels and clothes as a temporary relief. Even through we cannot provide a permanent safeguard to all these people, but some kind of present help will enable them to eat food and live somedays. Through our prayers, the Lord visioned for the survive of these suffered people. By this inspiration, I am sharing these peoples situation with you. At this stage any kind of your support will be so esteemingly useful to keep them on sustained position. While having no any resource. We are all looking forward for your gratitude.
I am here with sending you this pictures of the disaster, them you can understand how terrific, this present condition is the Lord will richly bless you and motivate to assist
for the rehabilitation measures for our people. We are all so anxiously waiting for your gracious concern. You may be blessed with all comforts to co-operate with the present deed and need. Kindly pray for our people and pastors to get relieved from this stage. Kindly let me have your encouragements in this regard.
All our best regards to all who are with you.
Yours Brother in Christ,
Pastor G.Balasundaram.

We have no money, but He does-- and His saints are a blessing. If God stirs your heart, or know of a bus-owner whose heart might get stirred in a hurry, please return email me! Our kids are getting the truth...but we're never satisfied with the numbers! |

We go to the neighborhoods of these youth every week end to pick them up for activities and service. However, we are at a stand still because of limited transportation. | | you have to put an age restriction on riders because you do not have the time to take care of child who can not take care of themselves e.g changing a diaper while trying to take care of the rest of your bus riders, further you can not place yourself in the responsibility and/or liability position. i was part an eleven bus ministry in houstry while going to bible college we bussed in 400-500 children every sunday. we encouraged parents with the younger children to come and ride the bus with us so that they could be a part of the ministry and bring the younger children...this was quite successful |

|
| Hello,
My name is ShaRon Mills and I'm a member of Bethany Community Church located in Gilroy. Every Wednesday we have Bible study for children in the community, but most of the kids who want to attend can't because they have no transportation. I drive a Rav 4 2 roll seats and I have picked up the kids for bible study, sometimes making two or three trips, pickup and ride homes.
The Bible Study program offered by Bethany has so much to offer to the kids of the community and we want to assist as many kids as possible by picking them up to get to the service.
Our kids are so excited to be at school and I am praying you can assist us with a donated bus to pick up the kids. There are so many other events we would like to take our kids to but because of lack of transportation it is impossible.
I am praying for assistance and receiving a donated bus for our church. Please give me a call to discuss.

I am a teacher of the word of God, and I currently teach Sunday school at my church home-however each Sunday I have between one and five students-I am believing God for help and assistance to get a bus-I know of many neighborhoods where I can pick children up-I spoke with my pastor and he stated he has know problem with children coming without their parents-I had mention to him how when I was a little girl the church bus was faithful to come to the neighborhoods and pick children up-I believe that having a bus will birth that union back-the vision the Lord has given me is to go out and get them to increase our Sunday school and reaching a nation through consistent and persistent outreach starting with the children, teens. Can you help? |

| We have been involved in bus ministry for our entire ministry. We provide transportation for children, families without transportation, elderly and disabled individuals. We currently operate the bus ministry
with 1 15 passenger van 1990 which is much need of replacement. Our church as been challenged with the economy, lay offs, pastor's illness for the past 8 years and funds to replace the current van are not available but yet the need to continue to provide this ministry is even greater in the current economic situation. We request your prayers with us that
the funding or donation of one 15 passenger van and one handicap accessible van/bus be provided. Each individual in our communities needs to have the opportunity to find abundant life and yes, even those in nursing homes and with physical challenges must be included. Even tho our church is small we have resources for deaf ministry and spainish ministry as well (both of which are needed in our community)
Yours in Christ,
