Jeremia 31:40 jeremiah31
"The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out onto the Kidron Valey on th east as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished."
Jeremiah was one of the greatest prophets of all time. I have a problem understanding this. His prediction of the rebuilding of Jerusalem is correct but the statement "never again be uprooted or demolished." This appears to be not only untrue but also a direct conflict with the prophesy of Christ. Please see Luke 19:44, "They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you." 70 AD. Titus and his Roman troops "destroyed the temple and much of the cities fortifications. Only part of the Western Wall of the Temple Mount remained." Quoted from World Book Mellennium 2000. |
