First, television is not 'Satan', though maybe; 'Satan personified' in the form of the material which is broadcast through it. As for televangelists; many have taken to defending their chosen medium by proclaiming it is merely a nuetral 'tool' to be used for good or evil, dependant upon the alignment of the user. Most will delight in having 'taken an evil thing, and having done 'good' with it'. This rationale is folly, however.
A short trip back to the old testament reveals what God's laws were (and 'are' to this day) regarding things such as this. -In addition to completely eliminating the enemy armies of Israel, there are several references to God specifically telling his chosen (Saul,David,Solomon...) To also destroy all temples , idols, artifacts of paganism, and even livestock which belonged to the enemy, even if their intentions in preservng it were seemingly pure. Disobedience in this matter was disasterous, not only for the leaders, but also for the entire nation. Centuries of suffering were brought on with a single indiscretion. I think this is God's way of telling us that 'all' impurities must be washed from our lives, and not just those accepted or perceived as being 'more serious'. God knows now as He did then: "We just dont always know what is good for us, and what is not."
Look it up and read it for yourself. In my humble opinion, televangelists should not exist, for they succeed only in further dividing the once faithful, and taint the very words they speak. ...SF
