To the thread starter of this forum:
It's not likely your television is representative enough to be considered as a candidate for the beast, but more likely the very tool which allows you to post on this website. After all, television merely offers persuasion and temptation. The computer however, has been given absolute control over so many aspects of everyday life that we have become complacent with its abilities and awstruck with its performance. In a very real sense, we have bowed down to its decision making skills and deified its existence by surrendering our own self will to its perceived discretion. Doubts?
Consider this: Where do you go when you wish to find something? What stores your accounting files? What tool is utilized to conduct polls and gather public opinion, to determine how much grain the nation must produce to feed its masses, or to weigh the risks of going to war?
What is it you have given power to that you may have your pay automatically deposited, or debts withdrawn from, your accounts?
One last thing: The 'horns' are kings/leaders/ rules, not 'rabbit-ear' antennae. Please!
And people and/or kingdoms are not referred to in the Bible as having 'come-up from the earth' (kingdoms are referred to as having risen from the sea). Only, things created or cultivated by humans, were.
-Has anyone ever weighed the signifigance of having a social security number (in the USA) and what your life would be like without it? ...Hhmmmmm
